OREANDA-NEWS China does not want shocks and fluctuations in trade relations with the United States, China's representative at international trade negotiations, Deputy Commerce Minister Li Chenggang, said on Sunday.

"Over the past month, there have been some shocks and fluctuations in Sino-American trade and economic relations, which have attracted increased attention from around the world," Li Chenggang said, quoted by China Central Television.

He added that after the trade and economic talks with the United States in Geneva in May this year, China faithfully and responsibly implemented the agreements reached and carefully maintained the relatively stable relations of Chinese-American trade and economic cooperation, which were not easy to achieve.

"Such shocks and fluctuations are not what China wants to see," he stressed in a conversation with reporters following bilateral talks in Malaysia.

China and the United States held trade talks in Kuala Lumpur on October 25-26. The Chinese delegation was led by Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China He Lifeng, and the American delegation was led by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant.
