OREANDA-NEWS China opposes unilateral sanctions and believes that only maintaining dialogue will resolve the conflict in Ukraine. This is how Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian commented on threats by North Atlantic Alliance Secretary General Mark Rutte to impose secondary sanctions for trade with Russia, the Anadolu agency reports.

"Dialogue and negotiations are the only possible way out of the Ukrainian crisis. China opposes unilateral sanctions and long—arm jurisdiction," the diplomat stressed.

Lin Jian also pointed out that there can be no winners in customs wars, and "coercion and pressure will lead to nothing."

Earlier, Rutte said that Brazil, China and India risk facing secondary sanctions if they do not stop trading with Russia. He added that Europe would make every effort, allocating the necessary funds to ensure Ukraine's best position in potential peace negotiations.
