OREANDA-NEWS  The head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, called the recognition of the peninsula as part of the Russian Federation a key point for the formation of a new world order. The politician's words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to Konstantinov, the recognition of Crimea as part of Russia can be perceived as the beginning of recognition of all the changes that have taken place. "This is not just a territorial issue, but a fundamental recognition of the current situation, a key point in the formation of a new world order," he said.

The politician stressed that it would be difficult to achieve peace without recognizing Crimea as Russian territory. He believes that negotiations without taking this fact into account will lead to a situation similar to that around the Minsk agreements, when problems were not resolved and the conflict was only postponed. "Numerous attempts to resolve the conflict without taking into account the original causes proved fruitless," concluded Konstantinov.

Earlier, the Financial Times newspaper concluded that it was more profitable for Western countries to conclude a peace deal with Russia on Ukraine without officially recognizing the territories that had returned to the state, including Crimea. As an example, the authors of the material cited a truce in the style of the Korean War.
