OREANDA-NEWS The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) announced a one-and-a-half-fold decrease in prices for six vital medicines in Russia. This is stated in a message on the service's website.
These include drugs for the treatment of obstructive respiratory tract diseases, bronchial asthma, anemia, lymphoma and leukemia. For example, Polaivi, which is needed for the treatment of lymphoma, has become cheaper by 35 percent (from the minimum cost in the reference countries for Russia) and the same amount — from the average selling price of the drug in 2024.
And the price of antitumor "Bispons" has become 26 percent lower. The cost of Evrenzo, which is necessary for people with chronic kidney disease, decreased by 33 percent of the average cost of its sale in 2024 and by an average of 13 percent of the minimum price in the reference countries.
At the end of January, Fedot Tumusov, Deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection, proposed making all medicines from the list of vital medicines free of charge. At the same time, in January, the Russian government expanded the list of vital medicines to include 18 new drugs. The drugs added to the list are used to treat lymphoma, melanoma, leukemia, breast cancer, diabetes mellitus, tachycardia, pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and severe asthma. In addition, the drugs are used to prevent thrombotic complications during antiretroviral therapy.
