OREANDA-NEWS The parade of Chinese military personnel will be the largest among foreign troops at the Victory Day Parade on May 9 in Moscow. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, opening talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, writes TASS.

According to him, a parade of servicemen of the People's Liberation Army of China will solemnly march through Red Square. "As far as I know, this is the largest number of foreign military contingents," the president stressed.

The Russian leader also noted the enduring importance of the victory over fascism, which was achieved by a large number of victims. He added that Russia and China are guarding the historical truth, protecting the memory of the events of those years, as well as countering modern manifestations of neo-Nazism and militarism.

Earlier, Putin said he would visit China to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II. In addition, he will take part in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which is being held under the Chinese chairmanship.
