OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin's meeting with US President's special envoy Stephen Witkoff will primarily focus on the territorial issue in resolving the conflict in Ukraine, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexei Chepa has said. "There was a visit by the Ukrainian delegation just now, and they met with Witkoff at his ranch, at the golf course, and talked everything over. And I think that the negotiations that took place with the Ukrainian delegation will be coordinated now. The territorial issue was absolutely not agreed upon. I think this will be the main topic of the meeting. I believe that this meeting will bring the issue much closer to resolution. Russia has positive expectations," Chepa said.

Earlier, White House press secretary Caroline Levitt reported that the special envoy of the President of the United States, Stephen Witkoff, went to Moscow, where he is scheduled to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The meeting is scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday, December 2. The beginning of the negotiations will be held in an open mode.

In light of Witkoff's visit to Moscow, the White House announced Washington's positive attitude towards the prospects for resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
