Sales of Belarusian cars in Russia soared

OREANDA-NEWS According to the results of the first three months of 2025, the total sales of cars of the Belarusian-Chinese concern Belgee (BelGee) increased in Russia by 46 percent compared to the same period in 2024. This is reported by Interfax with reference to the press service of the automaker.
During the reporting period, sales of the concern's cars (38 percent of the shares belong to the Chinese auto giant Geely) in the Russian Federation reached the level of 6,245 units. For comparison, 4,260 copies were sold in Russia in January-March 2024. Thus, over the past 12 months, the indicator has increased by almost 2,000 units, the press service of BELJI noted.
The company attributed the growth in sales of its cars in Russia primarily to the expansion of the model range. At the end of July 2024, the mid-size universal crossover X70 went on sale. In addition, the brand has a separate dealer network. These factors eventually led to an increase in demand for Belgee machines, the press service concluded.
Belgee cars are localized versions of Chinese Geely models. Currently, a number of brand models are available to Russians, including the X50 crossover (based on the Geely Coolray) and X70 (an analog of the Geely Atlas Pro adapted to the climatic conditions of the Russian Federation). Slava Motors Rus has been the official distributor of the brand in Russia since July 2024. In the first half of March, Belgee X50 cars in the Active and Style trim levels and X70 in the Active version fell in price in Russia by 200 thousand rubles.
