OREANDA-NEWS The Russian government has provided about 1 billion rubles in 2026 for personnel training activities for the agricultural industry, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"Next year, about 1 billion rubles have been allocated in the federal budget for the implementation of the decisions taken. In total, we plan to allocate about 5 billion rubles for these purposes over the next 3 years. We hope that such measures will make it possible in the short term to improve the quality of education in agricultural colleges so that young people who are ready to work in rural areas know the most modern agricultural technologies," Mishustin said at a cabinet meeting.

During the meeting, the head of government said that a number of changes had been prepared that would improve education in secondary vocational schools. According to Mishustin, specialized colleges will be able to apply for a grant called "Agroprofi". Changes will also be made to the state program for integrated rural development. Teachers and scientists of specialized organizations subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture, Rosrybolovstvo and Rosselkhoznadzor can buy or build housing upon conclusion of an employment contract with an employer for 10 years, and at the end of the term, purchase it at a substantial discount.
