OREANDA-NEWS  The Pentagon has released new guidelines on military physical fitness, as well as stricter standards for appearance and self-care. This is reported by USNI News with reference to official memos of the defense department.

"The Pentagon has published several memos outlining a wide range of personnel changes that establish stricter standards of appearance and gender-neutral standards for combat positions," the publication notes.

It is clarified that the changes followed a speech by the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, to the military at the Quantico Marine Corps Base, where he, along with US President Donald Trump, proclaimed "the end of the era of political correctness in the army."

Earlier, Hegseth said that the "era of the Ministry of Defense" had ended in the United States, and the "Ministry of War" had replaced it, which would not do anything other than prepare for future armed conflicts. He also stressed that pacifism is dangerous and from now on the United States must defend its interests on the principle of "peace through force."
