OREANDA-NEWS According to the results of the first half of 2025, the trade turnover between Russia and China in the agricultural sector increased by 13 percent compared to the same period in 2024. Zalina Aiba, Deputy Head of the Department of Regulation in the field of fisheries and Aquaculture (Fish Farming) of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, announced a noticeable increase in bilateral trade in this sector. Her words are quoted by TASS.
We are talking about trade in agricultural products and food, Aiba explained. Exports of such goods from Russia to China increased by almost 8 percent year-on-year during the reporting period. Supplies to the Asian country are steadily growing, said the deputy head of the Department of the department.
The main drivers of the positive dynamics are the supply of rapeseed oil, frozen fish, pork and pig by-products, she added. An increase in the supply of these types of products to China provided an increase in revenue of more than $ 400 million, Aiba concluded.
Veronika Nikishina, head of the Russian Export Center (REC), in turn, attributed dairy products and chocolate to the most popular categories of goods from the Russian Federation in China. Their supplies to China have been growing for a long time, and the expert expects this trend to continue in the foreseeable future. In the medium term, Nikishina also did not rule out an increase in shipments of meat products to China against the background of the opening of the local agricultural market for Russian agricultural producers.
