OREANDA-NEWS Azerbaijan has refused to extradite to Russia Elena Khakhaleva, a former judge of the Krasnodar Regional Court, known in the media as the "golden judge", accused of especially large-scale fraud and forgery. The reasons for this decision are not specified.

The "Golden Judge" was arrested in absentia and put on the wanted list in 2022. According to the investigation, Khakhaleva had been receiving a salary for three and a half years for the days when she was not working. From 2016 to 2019, the golden Judge was absent from the workplace for 128 working days. In 2017, Khakhaleva did not consider a single case, and the following year she considered only five. At the same time, she entered false information in the report card. The damage from the actions of the former judge was estimated at 1.2 million rubles.
