OREANDA-NEWS  The three-day celebration "Seeing off the Russian Winter" began on February 28 in the central city of China's Shaanxi province, Xi'an, according to the Russian Export Center.

"The event is an important part of the cross-Cultural Years of Russia and China (2024-2025). This event promises to be a vivid example of cultural exchange between the two countries, combining traditions and customs in one celebration. The event will last until March 2," the message says.

The celebration began at noon on Xi'an's main pedestrian street, known as Datang Buya Cheng, where a folk festival unfolded. The performances of the ensemble of the Cossack song "Krinitsa" took place. To create a festive mood, animators work to entertain the audience and create an atmosphere of fun.

Special attention is paid to the traditional Russian pancake pancakes, which are served to everyone. Chinese people can enjoy this popular Russian delicacy while getting acquainted with Russian culinary traditions.

A goods fair was also organized at the festival, where residents and visitors of the city can get acquainted with a variety of products from Russia. Thus, exporters are represented, including Abrau Durso, Legends of Baikal, Miratorga, Aleika, etc. These companies sell their products on foreign electronic platforms through national Made in Russia stores. You can find out more details and apply for placement in national stores on the My Export digital platform.

Xi'an first learned about Maslenitsa a year ago, when an extensive entertainment program was organized in the city with the participation of Russian artists and tasting of goods. Last year's success inspired the organizers to hold the event this year.

This year's celebration was organized by the Russian-Chinese Friendship, Peace and Development Committee, the Shaanxi Provincial government, and the Russian Export Center. The event is supported by the Russian Embassy in China and the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing.
