OREANDA-NEWS Residents of the city of Slany and the village of Gostitsy in the Leningrad region were massively poisoned by surrogate alcohol. Mash writes about this at the Sink in Telegram.
At least seven people are known to have died. Two more people were taken to hospitals.
A 79-year-old local resident was detained on suspicion of selling surrogate alcohol. One of the victims was his 75-year-old wife. Empty bottles and cans were seized from the family's house for examination.
Earlier, residents of several Russian regions were poisoned by tea from the Sochi market. The cause of the incident could be methyl alcohol, which was found in samples of homemade alcoholic beverages. According to various sources, 10 to 15 people were injured.
