OREANDA-NEWS Armenia is no longer Russia's brother. An unusual statement was made by Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturian.

According to him, Armenia has been able to diversify its economy. Yerevan also hopes that Moscow will "take into account the independent decisions of the Armenian authorities."

"Our relations with Russia are completely different now — partnership relations. Russia's attitude towards Armenia is not like that of an older or younger brother, but simply a partnership. This is what we have been trying to achieve for the last four years," the Armenian president said.

Earlier, Deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia Hayk Mamidzhanyan in a conversation stated that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is ready to trade relations with Russia for maintaining power. "He is only interested in the guarantee of his re-election or the preservation of power. If allied relations between Yerevan and Moscow interfere with this, he will step over them without batting an eye," the politician stressed.
