OREANDA-NEWS  The exhibition of young artists from Russia and China "Multicolored World", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory, opened at the museum complex "Monument of the Millennium" in Beijing, RIA Novosti correspondent.

The exhibition, which will run from August 7 to 17, features 160 paintings united by a common historical memory of the events of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, World War II and the victory of the Chinese people in the war of resistance to Japanese aggression.

"Although Chinese and Russian paintings have their own unique features, they are united by their desire for beauty, love of life and deep reflections on a community with a common future for all mankind," said Liu Hongwei, Deputy head of the Eurasian Department of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

He noted that 80 years ago, the Chinese and Soviet peoples, who suffered greatly from foreign aggression, selflessly helped each other.

"Today we are gathered here, striving to develop this precious friendship and jointly defend the hard-won peace and development achievements," Hongwei added.

Wang Yu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Beijing Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, stressed that young artists from China and Russia, inspired by the theme of peace and friendship, have created a number of outstanding works of art that express the memory of the war and the desire for peace.

Maxim Chernyshev, Adviser to the Russian Embassy in China, noted in his speech that a fresh look, bold artistic experiments and a sincere desire for a dialogue of cultures make the exhibition "a truly unique event in the cultural life of our countries."

"The cultural dialogue between Russia and China continues to develop and enrich itself with new forms," he added.
