OREANDA-NEWS The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China said that recently the United States has repeatedly sent messages to China with the hope of trade negotiations. The agency's statement is quoted by RIA Novosti.
Beijing has noted that senior American officials have repeatedly expressed their willingness to engage in dialogue with China on customs duties. "At the same time, the United States has recently, on its own initiative, repeatedly sent messages to China through the relevant parties, hoping to start negotiations with China," the Ministry noted.
Therefore, the ministry is currently studying US reports on possible trade negotiations. This information will be evaluated.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced plans to reduce customs duties on goods from China. "The 145 percent figure is really very high. And it won't stay at that level. It will decrease significantly, but it will not become zero," he promised.
