OREANDA-NEWS   The tense situation around Iran for Russian business means the need for more accurate calculation of transactions and diversification of logistics channels when working with all the countries of the Persian Gulf, Sergey Katyrin, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, told RIA Novosti.

"The current situation around Iran has specific economic parameters that directly affect trade in the Persian Gulf region and the activities of Russian companies," he said.

According to him, insurance rates for the passage of ships through the Persian Gulf have increased by an average of 3 times. "This adds hundreds of thousands of dollars to the cost of a single voyage of a large vessel and is automatically included in the delivery price. For container transportation through the ports of the Gulf, tariffs are increasing by 20-40% in certain directions and an increase in delivery time," the agency's interlocutor emphasized.
