OREANDA-NEWS  The Penza Region has signed an agreement on cooperation with the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan in trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian spheres, said Oleg Melnichenko, Governor of the Russian region.

"An agreement on cooperation between the Penza and Samarkand regions was signed with the khokim (Governor of the Samarkand region - ed.) Adiz Muzafarovich Boboev. This is the fourth region of Uzbekistan with which we have officially confirmed our intentions to establish comprehensive business relations. We aim to develop trade, implement investment projects, and most importantly, create joint ventures. Samarkand has an interest in Cesis, Motor Technologies, Lenkomtech, and SV-Mebel companies. Medinge, Damate Group of Companies, Severyanin confectionery factory, and Quantorium NEL children's technology park are also being considered for cooperation," Melnichenko wrote on his Telegram channel.

He noted that fruits and dried fruits from Samarkand are in demand in the Penza region, and there is an option to supply them to Penza retail chains.
