OREANDA-NEWS Dialogue between Russia and the United States on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons is currently impossible. This was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, TASS reports.

"For us, this is a sign of how low the chances of any bilateral cooperation with the United States on nonproliferation issues are at the moment," Ryabkov said.

According to the deputy Foreign Minister, arms control issues depend on other factors, including the Ukrainian conflict. Ryabkov stressed that he sees "no real possibility for Washington and Moscow to begin a professional, realistic, result-oriented dialogue" on nuclear nonproliferation.

Earlier, Ryabkov said that the aggressive policy of NATO countries is forcing Russia to take compensatory military-technical measures.
