India and China have deployed over 50,000 troops at forward locations in the western stretch of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) – a loosely demarcated line that divides the two countries. 

Uralkali ecologists today released almost 50,000 juvenile sterlets into the Kama River (Perm Region, Russia). The sterlet is a species of the sturgeon family listed in the Red Book of the Perm Region.
